First, that picture is perfect for this post. But anyways, I thought I should let you guys know that I’m slowing my roll a little bit with this blog/ F!ash deal. (you probably noticed by now) I’ve had time to think about a musical game plan while traveling abroad, and I think I have a pretty good idea of how to proceed from here on out. Although I enjoy posting tracks for more people to enjoy, I’ve got other things in mind. I’ve been spending a lot of time over the last few months getting my production software dialed, and I feel like I’m hittin a stride with it.

That being said, the new project is off to a really good start. I don’t really want to splurge any of the details, but I’ll be releasing an LP in January sometime. Until then, I’m going to try and post a few tracks here and there that I’m digging at the moment. That being said, here’s a track I’m LOVING right now… kinda similar to the style of a few tracks I’ve been working on.

Made it to Amsterdam after a kinda long day of travel with delayed flights and planes with engines that wouldn’t start (and when they did, they rattled the plane quite a bit). Either way, made it here and it’s a pretty absurd place from what I’ve seen. Going to explore more tomorrow. Enjoy this relevant tune. Here’s a little clip from the Deadmau5 show I went to London at the roundhouse. The venue was really sick and we managed to get front and center. (Not bad considering our original tickets were for the upper balcony and off to the side) The set was pretty damn unbelievable, there was one point in his set that left me scratching my head. He had the whole crowd going nuts on the build in the remix of Cascada’s “I Remember”, then he cut out to a downtempo, mellow track right before the drop. The whole crowd was kinda confused as well because they got amped up and then there was essentially nothing… definitely a let down. Besides that one little bit, his set was completely epic in every way. He played all the sick songs I wanted to hear and he mixed them damn well. I thought having the keyboard cat play him off was pretty damn funny.

Holy shit, holy shit, holy shit.

I’m pretty sure I just had my mind absolutely blown last night. I went and saw Boys Noize and Djedjotronic here in Munich. Needless to say I had an absolutely epic time. I ended up on the stage when Djedjotronic was on, and then the front row in front of the tables the whole night with Boys Noize. I’m not sure how I exactly managed this, probably because I was a shirtless sweaty mess that nobody wanted to deal with. Either way, I was sure to take some pictures and video to document the show. I must admit that half of my videos were intended to be taken as pictures so they’re still for a second and then show the darkness of my pocket, but I managed to get a few decent ones. (I will definitely take better video of Deadmau5 in London on the 14th). Boys Noize also came down off the stage at the end and I was stoked to be up front with him, although I was pretty outta my element at that point, Donny. I just can’t even explain how rad it was last night. The venue was so sick, the music was obviously epic, and the crowd had a really good vibe. My ears were on the verge of bleeding, but I couldn’t be happier. In fact, I was so happy that I mooned a cop on the walk home. It was one of those nights.

Anyways, off to recover with a stein of German lager and good food to watch the Germany- Russia football game (Yes, soccer, you retard). But here’s some tracks to make you happy. I’m not sure exactly what to say about France so far. The food is amazing, the waves have been super fun, and the people have been extremely nice (except the Parisian assholes, I hope they die a slow painful death from choking on their false sense of pride)… but I dunno about the rest. 90% of people in the water are complete barnies (as is everywhere), the lifeguards are the gayest people on the beach (they just play soccer all day and blow a stupid horn to heckle people out in the water… they couldn’t save someone if theirs depended on it), surprisingly the DJs here suck horribly (when I ask if they ever use Serato, they look at me like I’m speaking Greek, they terribly over effect everything, and their transitions make me cringe from double bassing, vocals over vocals and just terrible cuts), “I’ve Got a Feeling” is the biggest hit of the night, and now there’s an old man with his pants down chillin on the beach in front of where I steal WiFi. I mean… seriously? The biggest shock has to be in the music department. I always thought of Europe as a forward thinking place when it comes to music… a source of good house music, and just void of shitty top 40 tracks. Not at all. They buy into shitty top 40 music hook line and sinker like the good ol U S of A. I will give them credit, however, for being open to good electro. The DJ at a club last night played a lot of shitty music, but then he would mix in some good tech house stuff that people really liked… I can’t say something like that is feasible at home.

Either way, the food here is amazing. The choclatines (chocolate croissants), baguettes, and seafood have been absolutely amazing. It’s been a good time, thats for sure. I’m also picking up more and more french… I’m determined to learn the language. Time to go back to sleep as I am suffering from a terrible hangover at the moment.
